Thursday before the tour. It is possible to have a Accommodation at Keflavik airport in HotelBus Iceland for free.

The Bus stays at Keflavik airport from 7 pm - 9 pm. Than the HotelBus drive to overnighting stay at Gardskagi Lighthouse. It is possible to buy food in the restaurant. 

Day 1 The Grand Golden Circel

The tour consists of the magnificent sights of Thingvellir, Gullfoss, and Geysir in South Iceland. 

Þingvellir National Park is almost considered a sacred place in Iceland. This is where the Icelandic parliament was established in year 930 and continued to convene there until 1798. Þingvellir is a site of historical, cultural, and geological importance. At Þingvellir you can see clearly how the Eurasian and North-American plates are drifting apart, literally standing on the boundaries between Europe and America. Þingvellir has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Gullfoss is by many considered the most beautiful waterfall in Iceland. The iconic waterfall fed by the second biggest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull, falls 32 meters into a canyon offering a spectacular view surrounded by walls up to 70 meter high.

Close by is the famous hot springs area where we will see the legendary Geysir, the first geyser described in a printed source and which the English word geyser is derived from. Here you will be able to experience the forces of an active geyser, Strokkur, erupting ones every 6-10 minutes.

At Seljalandsfoss waterfall you get the chance to walk behind it, which is exceptional experience for waterfalls. The waterfall falls from the cliff with immense power, forming a deep pool at the bottom. Continuing east, the next stop is the picturesque waterfall Skogafoss. We offer you an opportunity to take a hike to the top, providing you with an incredible view.

Day 2 Black Sand Beach and Skaftafell

After breakfast, we drive to the dramatic black sand beach of Reynisfjara. The waves have forged the shore and basalt cliffs over time, forming many of the famous natural gems in the area. The Reynisdrangar sea stacks are just off the shore, flanked by the amazing 120m (400ft) high Dyrholaey promontory, which is the southernmost tip of Iceland.

Dyrholaey is the hometown for many different art of sea birds ex. LUNDI.  From Reynisfjara we continue our journey towards the east through enchanting lava fields and desert glacier sands. A wonderful contrast of scenery. We travel across the mighty lava field Eldhraun, where we learn about the 1789 volcanic eruption that nearly wiped out the entire population of Iceland, resulting with the King of Denmark contemplating whether the entire island should be evacuated.

Vi arrive to the national park Skaftafell in the afternoon. Here we are going to walk to the waterfall Svartifoss and explore the beautiful landscape in Skaftafell national park.

Day 3 The Glacier Lagoon Jökulsarlon and East Coast

Vatnajökull glacier dominates the area we are approaching in all its glory. Svinafellsjökull and the magnificent Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is our next stop. The Glacier Lagoon is very special attraction where you can see the iceberg move to the ocean. Sometimes seals can be spotted in the lagoon.

It will be change to sail among the iceberg and seals and get some amazing pictures. We drive through the old fisherman town Höfn and the new tunnel under Almannaskard. This area is the geologic oldest in Iceland with clips who is between 16 – 20 million years old. We visit the capital city in the east coast Egilsstadir.

Day 4 Hallormstadur, Dettifoss, Asbyrgi and Husavik

We explore the area around Hallormstaðaskogur Iceland largest forest, driving around the Lagarfljót Lake.  The story about the mystery of Lagarfljots worm, our version of Nessie, the monster of Loch Ness.

We visit Hengifoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland and drive through the wasteland of Möðrudalsheiði the homeland of Reindeer in Iceland and to the North side where we will visit Dettifoss waterfall. Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe. We are going to visit Asbyrgi and walk in Sleipnir horse shoe among the clips. At last we drive to Húsavik and enjoy the midnight sun.

Day 5 Lake Myvatn, Godafoss and Akureyri

Today we are going to explore the nature reserve of Lake Myvatn and its unique surroundings. Dimmuborgir the home of Elves, Namaskarð, geothermal wonder of hot sulfuric mud springs and steam springs. Black rivers and bubbling pools of sulfuric mud cut through a landscape that is rich with colorful minerals and is continuously steaming. 

Skutustadir craters that stretch into the lake forming part of the wetland conservation area. We will stop at Myvatn nature bath and stress off. At last we visit Krafla and then we drive to Godafoss Waterfall (Waterfall of the Gods), and end the day in Iceland’s second largest town, Akureyri.

Day 6 Borgarfjörður and Reykjavik

We start our last day by driving towards Reykjavik. After crossing Holtavorduheidi, we turn off the main road and visit several sights in the Borgarfjördur Area. This site used to be the residence of Snorri Sturluson, a ninth century poet, scholar, and author of many fine manuscripts. Snorri used the geothermal springs for bathing, and his personal hot tub has survived the years and is probably among the oldest of such pools in Iceland, if not Europe. 

From Reykholt we proceed to Deildartunguhver, the largest hot spring in the world, the beautiful Hraunfossar and Barnafossar Waterfalls in Borgarfjördur are one of our last sights. These waterfalls are some of the most unique in Iceland because of their unusual setting. You will understand why when you see them.  At last we drive to Reykjavik and expect to be there around dinner time.
