During the trip, you will see an amazing black beach scattered with icebergs, next to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. The stunning Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is where huge icebergs float in ice cold water and seals swim around them.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to a natural ice cave inside Vatnajökull glacier. The ice in the cave is spectacularly blue and a popular attraction.

There is an extremely limited availability so you should reserve now to see the glacier cave.

Ice caves in Iceland are very unpredictable and you never know when, if, where or how many will form, making each and every one of them unique. This winter our guides have already found some beautiful ice caves, so now is your chance to go and see them!

If you want to witness one of Iceland's most incredible natural phenomenon, then you should book this tour now.

Please notice: you should bring light luggage for the tour. If you have big suitcases we can store them for you in Reykjavik while you are on the tour.

Daily itinerary

Day 1 - South coast, the five waterfalls and black beach Reynisfjara

Today, you will discover five waterfalls on the south coast of Iceland. The waterfalls are called Gljufrabui, Seljalandsfoss, Írafoss, Skógafoss and Kvernufoss. We will also visit the unique black beach Reynisfjara near the village Vík. In the evening we will try to see the Northern Lights in the moonlight if the forecast is good. You will stay overnight at the cozy Nicehostel Seljalandsfoss on the south coast.

Day 2 - Glacier lagoon and the incredible Blue Ice cave

Today, you will take a close look at majestic glaciers and lagoons. In the morning, you will go to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. It’s filled with huge chunks of ice which crack off of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. Some icebergs wash on shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin and from there, the Ice cave tour will begin.

The drive from the glacier lagoon to the ice cave takes approximately 30 minutes and your guide will inform you on the way about the surrounding area. When you reach the cave, you will have approximately 1.5 hours in the cave and its amazing surrounding area.

Explore to your heart's content! After the visit to the cave, you will journey to the Skaftafell National Park where we will spend some time wandering the hiking trails and basking in the tall trees and lovely mountain views there before making your way back to Reykjavik.
